Hope is a Hands on textile designer specialising in woven and printed textiles. Hope’s recent work has been centred around her visibility as a black woman in the creative industry, having written her dissertation on how western beauty standards have effected the representation of black women in the media. Hope finds documenting herself (on social media) creating her work a way to bring back her visibility in a world where black women are invisible.

Hope has a confident graphic drawing style using selective mark making techniques and striking colour combinations. Exploring with a range of mediums such as large felt pens, spray paint, inks, gouache paint and oil pastels. With a key focus on attention to detail Hope immerse myself in the design process. Taking her own imagery inspired by her surroundings to create a range of thoughtful informed Woven and Printed textile collections.
